Helping Hands for Women Organization (HHWO), with support from UN Women through the Womenβs Peace and Humanitarian Fund (WPHF), has implemented key health and mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS) activities under the project βStrengthening Health and Socio-Economic Resilience of Families β Panjshir.β
Through these interventions, HHWO has expanded access to essential services, supported psychosocial well-being, promoted personal dignity, and strengthened health awareness among women, girls, men, and boys in targeted communities.
Key achievements include:
β’ 3,056 clients received individual MHPSS services.
β’ 1,352 clients benefited from group counseling, promoting peer support and positive coping strategies.
β’ 100 clients received essential medical health support.
β’ 600 dignity kits were distributed to eligible clients to support personal hygiene and dignity.
β’ 9,984 people were reached through health awareness activities, improving knowledge of essential health and well-being practices.
These results demonstrate the importance of accessible, community-based health and psychosocial services in strengthening individual well-being and community resilience.
Continued demand for these services highlights the need to sustain and expand such interventions to reach more vulnerable families and ensure continuity of support.
HHWO expresses its appreciation to UN Women and WPHF, as well as community members and local stakeholders, for their support and cooperation. Continued investment in these services is essential to building healthier, more resilient communities in Panjshir.
