As we reflect on the past year, we are incredibly proud of the progress we have made in supporting Afghan women. Over the course of the year, HHWO has assisted over 7,500 women by providing need-based training, livelihood support, legal services, Health along with MHPSS Services, and raising awareness about women’s and human rights.

Our efforts have been made possible, thanks to partnerships with organizations such as UNDP, USAID/CI, and UN-Women. With UNDP’s support, we were able to provide livestock and dairy technical assistance to women, ensuring that they have the tools and resources needed to maintain their households’ food security. In Panjshir, a USAID/CI-funded socio-economic study helped us better understand the challenges faced by vulnerable women, providing us with key insights to address their needs. Furthermore, our UN-Women-funded initiative in Badakhshan empowered 40 women-led businesses and supported around 500 women employees, helping them build resilience and economic independence.

Looking ahead to 2025, we are excited to expand our efforts to reach around 15000 women in Badakhshan, Takhar, and Panjshir provinces. With the continued support from UN-Women, we will focus on strengthening the socio-economic resilience of Afghan women, providing them with essential resources to thrive.
