15 October marks the International Day of Rural Women, an occasion to recognize the vital contributions of rural women and girls to family well-being, community development, and sustainable development.
On this occasion, Helping Hands for Women Organization (HHWO) reaffirms its commitment to supporting rural women and girls in Afghanistan and promoting equal opportunities in education, healthcare, economic empowerment, and social participation.
HHWO has been working with women and girls in Panjshir, Takhar, Badakhshan, Jawzjan, and other areas of Afghanistan, particularly in rural and underserved communities. Its work spans education, economic empowerment, health, skills development, livelihood support, and psychosocial services.
HHWO recognizes that investing in rural women and girls is essential to strengthening community resilience, improving family well-being, and advancing sustainable development. The organization calls on local communities, humanitarian organizations, and development partners to strengthen collective efforts to address existing challenges and expand opportunities for rural women and girls.
HHWO remains committed to supporting rural women and girls and contributing to a more inclusive, resilient, and sustainable Afghanistan, where every woman and girl can live with dignity and access opportunities to learn, grow, and thrive.
